Rick Springfield as Mick Barrett in HIGH TIDE

Rick Springfield stars as Mick Barrett in HIGH TIDE, the weekly hour-long action/adventure from Franklin/Waterman 2 Presentation that is exclusively distributed by ACI, a Pearson Television company.

One of America's most popular entertainers, Springfield has established himself as both a seasoned television performer and acclaimed musician.

His first television roles were guest-starring appearances on such action series as The Rockford Files, Battlestar Galactica, The Six Million Dollar Man and The Incredible Hulk. Moving onto daytime drama, Springfield starred as heartthrob Dr. Noah Drake in the highly rated soap opera, General Hospital, and went on to star in ABC's primetime action hour, Human Target, as well as in such telefilms as Silent Motive with actress Patricia Wetig, Dead Reckoning, In The Shadows Someone's Watching and Nick Knight, the premise for the action series, Forever Knight. He appeared in the two-hour movie-of-the-week, A Change of Place, that was shot on location in Budapest, Hungary and guested in Aaron Spelling's Robin's Hoods featuring actress Linda Purl.

On the big screen, Springfield starred in the popular musical romantic comedy Hard to Hold and wrote and recorded its soundtrack, which went platinum.

Despite his television success, it was Springfield's musical talents that first brought him into the public eye. His music career took off at the age of 13 when he began writing music and playing the guitar. Springfield played in clubs, teen bands and toured Vietnam during the war, eventually landing a record contract and recording a Top Ten single, "Speak to the Sky" from his "Beginnings" album.

Springfield, a five-time Grammy nominee and Grammy winner for the hit single, "Jessie's Girl," has completed a total of 12 albums. Nearly 20 of his singles have reached the top of the BILLBOARD charts, including "Jessie's Girl" (number one), "Love Somebody," "Human Touch," "Affair of the Heart," "I've Done Everything for You" and "Don't Talk to Strangers." Two of Springfield's albums went gold -- "Beginnings" and "Tao" -- and four albums went double platinum -- "Working Class Dog," "Living in Oz," "Success Hasn't Spoiled Me Yet" and "Hard to Hold."

Springfield is currently working on his 13th album and plans to go on tour after its release. He continues to perform, appearing in top concert halls and clubs around the world.

As Springfield prepares to go into his third season as Mick Barrett on HIGH TIDE, he stresses the directional change of the show. "Mick and Joey (Yannick Bisson) have matured over the course of two years. The High Tide surf shop didn't work out as Mick had hoped. Since he and Joey have batted fairly well in their part-time investigative work, they decide to take it on full-time and make a new start in Santa Barbara," says Springfield.

A native of Australia, Springfield makes his home in Malibu, California, with his wife, Barbara, and sons, Liam and Joshua.
